All the news from PlayStation’s summer State of Play

A week ahead of all the Summer Game Geoff festivities, PlayStation is putting on its second State of Play event of the year. PlayStation has correctly decided that the best way to ensure its forthcoming lineup of games gets the most attention is to put on a show before everyone else puts on theirs.

According to the announcement, the presentation will last roughly 30 minutes and feature 14 games for PlayStation consoles and PSVR 2. While PlayStation hasn’t shared the lineup for the event, there are rumors circulating on social media that suggest PC ports for God of War Ragnarok and Until Dawn, a new Astro Bot game, and a new game in the Alien series are on the way. Also, there are reports — seemingly confirmed by retail listings — that the next entry in the Resident Evil series will also make its debut. The event starts at 3PM PT / 6PM ET, and you can keep up with the biggest announcements and trailers right here.

Sony’s showcase is expected to be densely packed, lasting 30 minutes but featuring 14 titles. That’s a game roughly every two minutes or a handful of premium games at several minutes apiece, with a shotgun blast of smaller games. Regardless of how the timing shakes out, we can probably expect some big announcements.
