Apple’s M3 MacBook Airs are at their best prices for Amazon’s Prime Day

Here’s the quick and dirty on how much you can currently get Apple’s jack-of-all-trades laptop for:

  • The base 13-inch M3 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD is $849 ($250 off) at Amazon (exclusively for Prime subscribers) and Best Buy.
  • The step-up 13-inch M3 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD is $1,249 ($250 off) at Amazon (Prime exclusive) and Best Buy.
  • The entry-level 15-inch M3 MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD is $1,044 ($255 off) at Amazon (Prime exclusive) and Best Buy.
  • The 15-inch M3 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD is $1,424 ($275 off) at Amazon (Prime exclusive) and Best Buy.

The 13-inch models are matching previous all-time low prices while the 15-inch pair are slightly beating their previous lows by an additional five bucks. Any of these options are great laptops for everyday web browsing, getting work / homework done, some light creative workflows, and lasting all day and-then-some on a single charge. I’d say it’s just a matter of picking the size you prefer, and if you can justify spending the extra coin to step up to more RAM and more storage it’s likely worth it for the long haul.

The MacBook Air M3 is a jack-of-all-trades, with a balanced combination of performance and power efficiency. It also now supports dual displays with the lid closed, and the storage speed is noticeably faster. You don’t need to think about if this laptop will meet your needs — it just will. Read our review.

The 15-inch MacBook Air is also equipped with Apple’s M3 chip. It features a larger display and better speaker array than the 13-inch MacBook Air M3. Read our review.

The current crop of M3 MacBook Airs didn’t exactly rock the boat when they came out in early-2024, as they stuck to the same design from the M2-generation. But the M3s are faster with improved Wi-Fi, and if you’re using one in a home or work desktop environment you can close their lids and allow them to output to up to two monitors (previous models were limited to one external).

And while we may likely get some new MacBook Pros and / or a new Mac Mini sometime this fall (if Apple follows its usual cadence), it’s a safe bet that the M3 MacBook Airs are here to stay through the rest of the year. So you might as well get a deal now if you’re in the market for a great, lightweight laptop to use every day.
