PlayStation State of Play September 2024: all the biggest news and announcements

Days before PS5 Pro preorders are set to go live, Sony has announced a new State of Play event. The presentation, which starts today at 6PM ET and will reportedly last 30 minutes, will feature “more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world.”

Considering the PS5 Pro announcement last week contained no new games to show off the new hardware, expect this presentation to be stuffed with games trying to entice you into breaking open your wallet. Astro Bot DLC news is likely, as well as confirmation of the rumored Horizon Zero Dawn remaster. Speaking of Horizon, Sony will also likely share Lego Horizon Adventures’ holiday release date.

Get ready to see more PlayStation games. Sony is hosting a State of Play presentation tomorrow, September 24th, and the company says it will feature news and updates on “more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world.” Sony says the State of Play will be more than 30 minutes long, and you’ll be able to watch it at 6PM ET / 3PM PT on YouTube and Twitch.

The show is taking place just two days before preorders for the PS5 Pro are available. Sony’s initial presentation about the PS5 Pro was a little lacking, so hopefully we’ll get some better looks at games that will be enhanced by the new console.
